We’d say that this is essentially our flagship service. As we mentioned, there are different elements that we’d be able to include in specific situations. What we mostly provide, though, is company and overall assistance. That first element of providing “good company” to people is one that we really stress with our team. We want to make the person we’re accompanying feel seen and heard. From there, if they need some type of bathroom assistance or any unique type of care, we can find great ways to help out.

Hygiene Assistance

This is a very extensive service as well. What you can be sure of is that our staff members are well trained to be able to help bathe elderly patients. This certainly can be one of the most challenging parts of elderly care, particularly if it’s family members who are looking to provide this type of care for their loved ones. Hygiene assistance, though, can also include things like helping the person shave and other elements that may be specific to certain situations, especially for people with incontinence problems.

Daily Planning Assistance

If the person we are taking care of is able to be out of the house for at least a little while, that’s something that we’re always going to want to pursue. In our experience, one of the things that truly helps the morale of elderly people is being able to get out of the house and enjoy different activities. We can plan those ahead, along with any other activities around the house. These plans are particularly important when the elderly people we’re accompanying don’t live with other family members. That way, they can be in the loop of what’s going on.

Meal Planning and Prep

Part of our planning also includes meals. There comes a point where a person may not be able to eat the same food that the other members of the household are eating. When that’s the case, we’re going to be able to prep food for that person specifically. These meals are going to be based on a specific diet that may be recommended by doctors in certain cases or even agreed upon with other members of the family. To make sure that they’re eating healthy, but not necessarily poorly tasting food.

Light Housekeeping

If we’re doing live-in care, this is certainly something that our staff can be responsible for. That’s especially the case after cooking food. You can rest assured that our staff will be cleaning the different things that they use in the process. If you have a specific way that you clean or do things, you can also talk to us about how you like things done. That way, we can stick to those guidelines while we’re making sure that bathrooms and kitchens primarily remain clean.

Live-In Care

It’s important to point out at this point that we can provide a lot of these services without being in a live-in care situation. If the patient requires it, we can have staff on hand in-house 24/7. This can be the best way to keep the person comfortable because they’re living in their home. At the same time though, they’ll be getting the care that they need, just like they would potentially receive in a nursing home.
